It is a known fact that Charles Phillips Oracle past President, had his hands full when he was with the Oracle Company. Considering that large scope of market and products that the company was handling, it was not a surprise that he was always willing to give out his best when it came to the products and solutions of the clients. Prior to his entry to Oracle, Phillips was employed as a financial software analyst of Morgan Stanley. During his stay with the company, he was already recognized as one of the strongest employees of the investment bank. He made analytical moves on every report from major IT companies.

When Charles Phillips Oracle CEO in 2004 to 2010, entered the industry, the only background he carried in business was just being that analyst. Nevertheless, it seemed that this background was considered to be why he was wanted by Larry Ellison, who was then the CEO and President of Oracle. In just a year after his entry, Phillips was named as co-President, and he was able to ensure that his stay with the business will be something that will rewrite the history books of Oracle. In the seven years of his leadership, he was able to play a part in over 50 acquisitions in the market.

Infor never realized that they could have Charles Phillips, Oracle President, to be their CEO. When the opportunity opened up and allowed them to get hold of Phillips, they grabbed and offered him something he could not refuse. Technically, Infor was not actually looking for a CEO, but rather they were looking for a Chief Operations Officer, and they only lucked out in finding Phillips to be looking for something new to work with. This ensured the placement of Phillips, and Jim Schaper, former CEO and now Chairman of Infor, step aside and offered the position to Phillips.

Several reasons why Schaper wanted to have Charles Phillips, Oracle leader, to be part of the Infor Company. First, he was already a personality that had the right knowledge to the applications space industry, which assured the clients they would have the right set of companies that could potentially increase the market of Infor. In addition, it is also noted by Infor that Phillips values constant innovation and the need to have better customer relationships. Thus, for Schaper, this was ideal in getting Phillips to be on the helm of the company’s leadership.
